uniFLOW pros and cons

▲ Pros
+Centralized, secure print release across an entire device fleet
+One universal driver works across Canon, HP, Lexmark, Sharp and Xerox hardware
+Strong cost tracking, budgeting and per-department/user allocation
+Modular — buy only Essentials, Print & Scan, or Image Processing as needed
+Deep mobile and cloud-storage printing (Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)
+Reduces unnecessary printing and paper waste with policy enforcement
+99%+ uptime on the Azure-hosted Online version
+Long track record and tight native integration with Canon's own MFP line
▼ Cons
−No public pricing — every quote requires a sales/reseller conversation
−Cloud version routes print jobs off-network, a blocker for data-sovereignty-sensitive orgs
−Setup and Active Directory/M365 integration can take days and often needs a Canon specialist
−Background client process runs on every Windows endpoint even when idle
−Support quality varies because it's delivered through regional Canon partners, not NT-ware directly
−No free trial or free plan
−Best-in-class experience is Canon-hardware-centric; non-Canon fleets get a thinner feature set

uniFLOW FAQ

Is uniFLOW Online the same product as uniFLOW?+

No. uniFLOW is the on-premises/hybrid server product; uniFLOW Online is the Azure-hosted SaaS version sold as device-based subscriptions. Both come from the same vendor, NT-ware (a Canon company), and cover similar ground.

How much does uniFLOW cost?+

NT-ware does not publish pricing. uniFLOW Online is quoted per device through Canon and its reseller network based on device count, subscription tier, and region — you'll need to request a quote.

Does uniFLOW offer a free trial?+

No public free trial or free plan is listed on Capterra or the vendor site; evaluations are typically arranged through a Canon partner.

Which printer brands does uniFLOW support?+

Canon devices are natively supported; Lexmark, Sharp and HP are supported via an Embedded Applet, and other brands can be integrated through the uniFLOW Release Station.

Does uniFLOW work without an internet connection?+

uniFLOW Online requires an internet connection since it's cloud-hosted. The on-premises uniFLOW version can run fully on a local network without cloud dependency.

Who is uniFLOW built for?+

Organizations of any size with meaningful print volume — offices, schools, local government and enterprises — especially those already using or planning to standardize on Canon MFP hardware.
