Papercut FAQ
Is PaperCut free?+
No. PaperCut offers a free trial, and a free tier for very small deployments via PaperCut Pocket, but PaperCut NG and MF are paid products licensed per user band or per device.
How much does PaperCut cost per user?+
PaperCut NG starts around US$435 for a 25-user band, roughly $17 per user, not $435 per user as some directories state. MF is licensed per device and quoted by a reseller.
What is the difference between PaperCut NG and MF?+
NG is software-only print management on your servers. MF adds embedded software on the MFD panel, badge release at the device, and copy/scan/fax tracking.
Does PaperCut work without a print server?+
PaperCut Hive is the serverless cloud edition. NG and MF are designed to run on print servers, although Print Deploy reduces the server footprint.
