What is HopToDesk?

HopToDesk is remote desktop and remote support software for IT teams, managed service providers and businesses that need to reach the computers they look after. Connect to any enrolled Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, Chromebook or Raspberry Pi machine, or work in a browser with the web client.

The app itself is free for personal and business use, with no time limit and no per-technician fee. Share an ID and a password and you are connected, with no account required. Sessions are end-to-end encrypted between the two devices, so session content is not readable by us, and the client is open source under AGPL-3.0 so that can be checked rather than taken on trust. It runs in portable mode with nothing to install.

Unattended access lets you reach a machine with nobody at the far end. File transfer, live chat, multi-monitor, clipboard sync, remote printing, remote reboot, wake-on-LAN and privacy mode are all included, along with direct IP connections, SOCKS5 proxy support and TCP tunnelling.

The optional HopToDesk Dashboard adds the fleet side in a browser: live device status and monitoring with offline alerts, device groups and tags, session history with a full audit trail and CSV export, session recording, and a built-in help desk with email intake and a branded customer portal. Teams get roles, invites, two-factor authentication and single sign-on. Managed service providers get multi-tenant separation, per-client reporting and custom-branded clients shipped under their own name and logo.

Pricing is per device, never per technician, so adding staff never changes the bill. Accounts can choose a United States or European Union region, and the signal server can be self-hosted for organisations that want everything on their own infrastructure.
