Xerox FreeFlow FAQ
What is an all-in-one printer?+
All-in-one printers — also called multifunction printers (MFPs) — can print, scan, copy, fax, and email from a single device. They consolidate the functionality of several office machines into one, making them an ideal fit for distributed teams and remote office setups where simplicity and space efficiency matter.
What features should I look for in a remote office printer?+
Multifunction capabilities, fast print speeds, duplex printing, high-resolution output, and a compact footprint are all worth evaluating. The right fit depends on your team's daily workload — so start with how the printer will actually be used, then match the specs to those needs.
Do these printers use inkjet cartridges?+
No. Xerox laser and LED remote office printers use toner cartridges — which last longer and deliver sharper, higher-resolution output than inkjet alternatives. That means fewer replacements and lower long-term cost.
How does a laser printer work?+
Laser printers project a laser image onto an electrically charged rotating drum. Toner particles adhere to the areas exposed by the laser, and the drum transfers that image onto paper — where heat bonds it permanently to the page. Xerox invented the world's first laser printer in 1977, and we've been refining the technology ever since.
How do LED printers work?+
LED printers use light-emitting diodes to create an image on the printing drum, attracting toner that transfers onto the page. They're quiet, energy-efficient, and well-suited to remote office environments where minimal disruption matters.
Should I choose a wireless or wired printer for a home office?+
Wireless is the right choice for most remote office setups. Xerox printers with built-in Wi-Fi make it easy to print from laptops, desktops, and smartphones — with simple setup and no cord clutter. If a stable wireless network isn't available at a given location, a wired connection ensures consistent, reliable performance.
How do you make your print infrastructure more efficient, affordable and sustainable?+
What Your Challenges Are Equipment, consumable, repair and general operation costs are too high No line of sight into print usage, underutilization or service levels Power consumption and paper usage stand in the way of sustainability
