Clipchamp is Microsoft’s browser-based editor, and it comes pre-installed on Windows 11. There is nothing to download, and it handles trims, captions, voiceovers, and templates well.
The free plan is unusually generous: Free exports up to 1080p with no watermark, as long as you avoid premium assets. Auto captions, text-to-speech and background removal are included.
The pricing change to know: As of September 2026, Clipchamp’s own pricing page no longer lists a standalone Premium price. Premium comes through a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription.
Older articles quoting $11.99 a month are out of date. If you already pay for Microsoft 365, you may already have Premium.
What Premium adds: 4K export, the premium stock library, premium filters and a brand kit. Using a premium asset on the free plan watermarks that video.
Who it’s best for
Students, teachers, and marketers who make short, simple videos and already use Microsoft 365.
Who should skip it
Anyone editing long videos or needing precise timeline control.
